French Polynesia, present day. Caught in a mysterious fog triggered by experimental underwater drilling, the sailboat of an environmental group is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. As they wait for unlikely rescue, the survival of the nine castaways grows more perilous when strange events begin to unfold. With the nighttime appearance of ghosts drawn from each person’s painful past, the group of survivors soon begins to fall apart.

In an enchanting Polynesian setting, steeped in tradition and spirituality, ORO blends the stakes of a thriller with survival, fueled by the fantastic, with the heightened conflicts of a micro-community suddenly exposed, as a supernatural phenomenon sharpens private wounds and drives rising antagonism and anger.
